Contextualized Learning Solutions (CLS)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Contextualized Learning Solutions (CLS)<\/strong> is a Non-Profit Company founded in 2021 with the purpose of supporting the education sector in Southern Africa in developing 21st-century skills among teachers and learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While CLS operates as an independent organisation, it has strong links to Contextualize (Pty) Ltd<\/strong>. CLS was established as a sister organisation to Contextualize to create a clear separation between the commercial activities of the business and non-profit educational projects implemented for public benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our goal is to support the education sector across Southern Africa, with a particular focus on coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI) education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We aim to achieve this by providing accessible, practical and hands-on learning programmes<\/strong>, supported by thoroughly researched and contextually relevant curricula, comprehensive teacher training, and appropriate educational resources designed for local schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this approach, CLS seeks to equip teachers with the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to introduce technology-rich learning into their classrooms, while providing learners with opportunities to develop the digital, computational, creative and problem-solving skills<\/strong> needed to thrive in the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction to coding & unplugged activities<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop will introduce teachers to unplugged activities included in our curriculum. These activities require minimal resources and are particularly valuable for younger learners, as well as schools with limited access to computers or internet connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through practical activities, teachers will explore how computational thinking skills such as problem solving, pattern recognition and sequencing can be developed without the need for technology. These foundational skills will help learners develop the confidence and mindset needed to progress towards more complex coding and robotics activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Introduction to coding through block-based programming.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During our second workshop, teachers will be introduced to accessible, beginner-friendly online platforms that use block-based programming to teach the fundamentals of coding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will have the opportunity to explore how these platforms can be used to introduce learners to programming concepts in an engaging and approachable way. The activities are designed to help learners build a strong foundation in coding while encouraging creativity, logical thinking and problem solving.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hands-on coding & robotics.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


This workshop will bring coding concepts to life through practical robotics activities. Teachers will gain hands on experience programming robots and will get to see how coding can be applied to real-life applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This session will provide teachers with an opportunity to explore ways of using robotics to engage learners, develop problem solving skills and inspire interest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Get your school started with coding and robotics<\/strong> through our affordable four-week training programme, tailored to your school\u2019s implementation goals. The programme focuses on teacher training and immediate skills transfer to students<\/strong>, helping educators build confidence and practical skills while introducing learners to coding and robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training takes place one day per week for 2\u20133 hours<\/strong>. Each session combines hands-on training with an educational coding or robotics tool, followed by a practical session where the trained teachers work with students to immediately transfer and apply their new skills. We provide the robotics and teaching equipment needed for the training<\/strong> (computers are not included).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
